Aikenite: Keeneland September Yearling sale preview

Aikenite, whose first foals are yearlings of 2015, has a total of eight youngsters cataloged for the Sept. 14-26 Keeneland September Yearling sale.

Some of Aikenite’s Keeneland highlights include hip No. 2944, the first foal out of the Tiznow mare Lajitana, whose third dam Sweet Damsel is the dam of multiple Grade 1 winner Colonel John; hip No. 3541, a filly out of West Coast Kitty, who is a full sister to Grade 1 Triple Bend Inv. winner Unfurl the Flag; and hip No. 4035, a filly whose second dam is the champion older mare Hidden Lake.

Standing at Bridlewood Farm for $5,000 live foal in 2015, Aikenite’s first yearling offered at auction brought $120,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky July sale.

Catalogue pages for all of Aikenite’s Keeneland offerings can be found by going here to the Keeneland website and searching the “sire” column.
