Big Drama offspring continue to win at stellar rate

When the Big Drama 2-year-old filly Awesome Drama won her debut in a Presque Isle Downs maiden special weight on Thursday night, she became the 28th winner this year for her sire.

With 49 starters to date in 2016, Big Drama is the only sire in the top 20 on the Second Crop Sire list with at least 50% winners from starters, besting sires such as Uncle Mo, Twirling Candy and Archarcharch.

Awesome Drama win wasn't without suspense. After taking the lead early on and setting all the fractions, she was in a head-to-head duel with Ali Blue in the final furlong before winning the bob on the wire by a nose.

The winner is owned by Jim Ballinger and was bred in Florida by Ponder Hill, Inc.
