Bridlewood purchases at trio of fillies at OBS sale

Bridlewood was active at the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. selected sale of 2-year-olds in training March 11, purchasing three fillies by popular stallions Blame, Tapit and Unbridled’s Song.

The Blame filly, hip No. 199, is from the first crop of the Claiborne stallion who won the 2010 Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) en route to be named champion older horse. In tandem with Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners, Bridlewood’s winning bid was $300,000 for the daughter of the Dixieland Band mare I’m from Dixie. The mare is a half-sister to Grade 2 Black-Eyed Susan S. winner Sweet Vendetta.

Hip No. 142, by leading sire Tapit, was purchased in partnership with Three Chimneys Farm for $300,000 as well. The filly is out of Fashion Cat and is a half-sister to Grade 2 Saratoga Special winner Corfu, who joined Bridlewood’s stallion roster this year. Fashion Cat is a half-sister to multiple Grade 1 winner Peace Rules.

Also purchased in partnership with Three Chimneys was hip No. 323, an Unbridled’s Song filly consigned by Niall Brennan Sales, agent that brought $230,000. The gray filly is out of the multiple Grade 3 winner Pommes Frites.

All three fillies performed at the Under Tack show held prior to the sale. Each of the videos can be seen here. Enter the hip number in the search box and click on the video link.
