Bridlewood Farm stallion Chitu was the leading Florida first-crop yearling sire at the recent OBS 2018 Winter Mixed Sale, held on Jan. 24-25.
Topping the auction for Chitu was hip No. 179, a colt consigned by Chasin’ A Dream, agent. The colt, already named Dalton’s Storm, went to Breeze Easy LLC for $52,000, which is more than 17 times his bred-on stud fee. The colt’s dam Relentless Storm has produced three winners to date and is a half-sister to half-million earner Vanquisher.
Another colt, hip No. 84, went for $50,000 to George Isaacs, agent from the Beth Bayer consignment. The colt is from the same family as graded stakes winner Elusive Jazz and multiple stakes winner Dramatic Jazz.
Chitu was bred to more than 70 mares each of his first two years at Bridlewood, and is standing the 2018 season for $4,500.
