Condo Commando starts off 2015 with win in $100K Busher S.

Bridlewood training grad Condo Commando launched her 2015 campaign with an easy 4 ¾-length victory in the $100,000 Busher S. Saturday at Aqueduct.

The 3-year-old daughter of Tiz Wonderful took last year’s Spinaway S. (G1) and Demoiselle S. (G2), both by double-digit margins.
Condo Commando got away slow and was last in the field of six after a few strides, but quickly recovered and forged to the lead before the first turn. She never relinquished the top spot from then on, holding off all comers with ease, and glided home a comfortable winner.

“She didn’t break that clean, but I thought she was a little better than these fillies and she did it very impressively,” winning trainer Rudy Rodriguez said. “She’s been very special to us and hopefully she continues to impress us. I’m going to talk with the owners and discuss the next plans for her and hopefully she’ll continue to do a little better.”

Bred in Kentucky by Spendthrift Farm, Condo Commando is owned by the triumvirate of Michael Dubb, Bethlehem Stables LLC and The Elkstone Group LLC. She has amassed $568,600 in her four wins from five starts. Dubb was the winning buyer for the filly, at $72,000, at the 2013 Keeneland September Yearling sale.
