Chitu colts bring up to $48,000 at OBS October Yearling sale

Top-five Florida First-Crop sire Chitu’s returns at the recent OBS October Yearling sale were topped by a $48,000 colt that sold on the second day of the Oct. 8-9 Florida auction.

Consigned by Michelle Redding, agent, hip No. 568 went to Gary Logsdon. The chestnut juvenile is the second foal out of the stakes winner Prize Informant.

During the Oct. 8 session, another Chitu colt, hip No. 20, consigned by Chasin’ A Dream, sold for $42,000 to Parish Farms on behalf of Stanley Dunn. The colt, named Brit’s Dream, is out of the stakes winner British Event (VIDEO).

Chitu joined the Bridlewood stallion roster in 2016 after winning the Sunland Derby (G3) and Damascus S., as well as placing in the Malibu S. (G1) and Robert B. Lewis S. (G2), all at age three. His 2019 stud fee was $4,500 live foal stands and nurses.
