Corfu filly brings $110K at Fasig-Tipton July sale

A filly from the first crop of Grade 2 winner Corfu sold for $110,000 at Tuesday’s Fasig-Tipton July sale, with Bradley Thoroughbreds LLC the winning bidder.

Cataloged as hip No. 59, the filly was consigned by Baccari Bloodstock. Out of Stay on Track, the filly is a half-sister to stakes winner Karen’s Silk. Stay on Track is a half-sister to three-time Grade 1 winner Bushfire, as well as the stakes winner Maracaibo, Frosty’s Girl and Frosty’s on Track.

Corfu, the $675,000 sales topper at the Barretts March 2013 2-year-old sale, showed his class almost immediately, setting a stakes record in the Saratoga Special (G2) and running second in Belmont Park’s Futurity S. (G2). He stood the 2016 season at Bridlewood for $3,000 live foal, stands and nurses.
